The Government Data Centre in Kragujevac houses the first National Platform for Artificial Intelligence in the Republic of Serbia, which is a last generation supercomputer that is provided completely free of charge for use by universities, scientific institutes, faculties and domestic start-up companies in science and technology parks.
The National Platform for Artificial Intelligence consists of 4 nVidia DGX A100 systems with 32 GPUs, 1024 processor threads and 150TB of data storage space. This system delivers 5 PetaFlops of AI performance.
As the number of users continues to grow, as well as their needs for more resources, the Government of the Republic of Serbia has decided to purchase another supercomputer that will be an upgrade to the existing one and will consist of 6 nVidia DGX H200 systems, with 48 GPUs that are up to 7 times faster than the existing ones, as well as an additional 120TB of data storage space. This system delivers 32 PetaFlops of AI performance and will be available for use during 2025.
The procurement of the third supercomputer is in the final stage of negotiations, and will be implemented in 2026. This system, based on nVidia superchips, will position Serbia as a leader in the wider region when it comes to supercomputers intended for the development of artificial intelligence.
