The Office of IT and eGovernment, with the support of the Digital Serbia Initiative, organizes the first state Hackathon aimed at improving the user experience of citizens

“All registered teams will receive a project task based on which they will, in the period of 48 hours, make a proposal for software or hardware solutions, which will functionally and visually represent a proposal for a new eGovernment Portal. Hackathon will be held simultaneously in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis from May 25-27, and team applications will be open from April 25 to May 13, 2018”, said Mihailo Jovanovic, Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment.

He invited all interested teams to apply for Hackathon and to dedicate 48 hours to mapping the new digital eGovernment path towards citizens - #CodeGovernment.

“Our members are ready to invest their knowledge, experience and contacts from the IT sector in this project, with the aim of improving the user experience on the National eGovernment Portal, and to make the digital services that the portal offers more accessible to citizens. The cooperation between the economy and the state is of crucial importance for the transformation of Serbia into a digital society, which is the basic mission of our organization. Only through joint work can we reach a solution that will enable each individual and every company to feel the benefits of living and conducting business in digital Serbia”, said Veronika Tasic Vusurovic from the Digital Serbia Initiative.

All participants can find the application form with participation rules on the front page of the website of the Office of IT and eGovernment, ite.gov.rs or the National Portal euprava.gov.rs.

Today, apart from the announcement of Hackathon, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment and the Faculty of Technical Sciences (University of Novi Sad); Faculty of Organizational Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (University of Belgrade), and the Faculty of Electronic Engineering (University of Nis).

Mihailo Jovanovic pointed out that today he had the great honor of hosting Zoran Rakic (Professor, PhD), Milo Tomasevic (Professor, PhD), Dragana Jankovic (Professor, PhD), Milija Suknovic (Professor, PhD) and Rade Doroslovacki (Professor, PhD).

Starting from the general social interests, and bearing in mind the importance that all the above institutions have in society, the Cooperation Agreement was signed for the following fields of science and scientific disciplines such as informatics, information technologies, software engineering, electronic administration, computer sciences, electronics, etc.

Cooperation will also go in the direction of achieving internships for students; realization of lectures by experts of the Office; provision of training services, seminars and other forms of education; collecting data necessary for the Office; recording of the state of affairs of the Office, based on agreements with mentors from the faculties and related to the competencies of the Office.
