All of Serbia uses the "eZUP" and "Baby, Welcome to the World - parental allowance" information systems

"To this day, more than a million data exchange has been carried out ex officio through the "eZUP" information system, which more than 300 public administration bodies use daily, employing over 10 thousand individuals. This means that in the first year and a half of the use of this information system, citizens did not have to be couriers, carrying documents from counter to counter, more than one million times. Rather, it was the state that did for them, which saved 1 million hours of waiting in lines.", Jovanović said.

Speaking about the "Baby, Welcome to the World" service, he emphasized that the second phase of the service, which includes the application for parental allowance, has been fully implemented. "From now on, all maternity wards in Serbia and all centers for social work are included in this system. Parents are now enabled, in addition to registering their child‘s birth in the Registry of Births, registering the residence and applying for a health insurance card, to submit a request for parental allowance in every maternity ward in Serbia, regardless of their place of residence, in just a few minutes."

So far, over 140,000 newborn babies have been registered through the "Baby, Welcome to the World" Information System, and in 90% of cases, parents chose this eGovernment service while still at the maternity ward.

On that occasion in Trgovište, the Director of the Office, Mihailo Jovanović (Associate Professor, PhD), in the presence of the President of the Municipality, Nenad Krstić, pointed out that thanks to eGovernment systems, services were equally accessible to citizens all over Serbia, of which he was personally assured, since he had accessed his own data from the Registry of Births through the "eZUP".
