Director of the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment, Mihailo Jovanović (Associate Professor, PhD), in the presence of the Assistant Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković; President of the Provisional Authorities of the Municipalities of Kosovska Mitrovica, Aleksandar Spirić; Zubin Potok, Stevan Vulović; Zvečan, Ivana Todosijević; and Leposavić, Zoran Todić; and the President of the Executive Board of the Postal Savings Bank, Bojana Kekić - has launched into operation POS terminals at counters of municipal administrations of these municipalities.

The introduction of POS terminals is the first eGovernment service to be introduced in the southern Serbian province, with the aim of facilitating the payment of administrative taxes for citizens at the municipal counters, while the Postal Savings Bank in this way became another partner bank of the Office for IT and eGovernment accepting all payment cards via POS terminals at counters of public administration bodies.
"As of today, one of the modern eGovernment services that is available in cities and municipalities throughout Serbia is now available to the citizens of Kosovska Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, Zvečan and Leposavić as well. All administrative taxes can be settled on the spot by payment cards, without the need to go to the bank or post office counters. Thanks to electronic payment at the counters of administrations, we save the citizens time and ensure that they use the services in a quick and easy way. This is just the first step in the intention to make all eGovernment services that are available throughout the Republic of Serbia available to our citizens in Kosovo and Metohija as well, to which the Office for IT and eGovernment will give special attention", Jovanovic said.
The development of eGovernment and the introduction of electronic services is a path towards establishing a cost-effective, efficient and transparent public administration, and at the same time it is the most effective way of combating corruption and the gray economy.
On that occasion, Aleksandar Spirić, the President of the Provisional Authority of Kosovska Mitrovica municipality, made a payment through the POS terminal and pointed out that enabling this electronic service is only the beginning of the development of eGovernment in these municipalities.
