Serbian Prime Minister, Ana Brnabić, and the Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, Mihailo Jovanović (Associate Professor, PhD), held a meeting on the first day of the visit of the delegation of the Government of the Republic of Serbia to Shanghai on the occasion of the Second China International Import Expo, during which they spoke with Huawei Vice President and President for Europe, Mr. Li Jian. Mr. Li pointed out that Huawei Company, which has been operating in Serbia for more than a decade, has very positive impressions, and he expressed gratitude for the cooperation.

The Prime Minister stressed that she is satisfied with the cooperation with the Chinese company, emphasizing the importance of two projects that Huawei is implementing in Serbia - with Telekom Srbija and the Ministry of the Interior.
In the discussions, special attention was paid to the future projects and plans for the establishment of digital infrastructure in Serbia: from broadband Internet to the implementation of 5G mobile telephony network to the construction of the State Data Centre in Kragujevac.
Tomorrow, the Office for IT and eGovernment will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Huawei to establish a national platform for the development of artificial intelligence.
The meeting with Huawei was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Rasim Ljajić; Minister without portfolio responsible for innovation and technological development, Nenad Popović, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Marko Čadež; Ambassador of China to Serbia, Chen Bo; Ambassador of Serbia to the People's Republic of China, Milan Bačević; and the President of the National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China, Tomislav Nikolić.
