This important event is dedicated to eGovernment policies and represents one of the symbols of international cooperation, where the focus is placed on a new strategic eGovernment framework relating to the eGovernment Development Program for the period 2019-2022.
“During the implementation of the first Program in 2018 and 2019, Korea and Serbia exchanged knowledge and experience of invaluable importance for the development of eGovernment infrastructure and the construction of the State Data Center in Kragujevac, as well as the establishment of the State Cloud Infrastructure in Serbia. The Knowledge Exchange Program, implemented for the first time by the Republic of Korea in Serbia, will soon have visible results, as the construction of the State Data Center in Kragujevac is expected to begin by the end of next month”, said Jovanović.
“It is a great pleasure to be a part of today's seminar, because knowledge and improvement of eGovernment is of great importance for both citizens and states. Serbia has set a clear goal and has prioritized digitalization and the development of eGovernment, so I believe this seminar will be important for Serbia”, said Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Serbia, Hyoung-chan Choe.
He added that Korea supports Serbia's efforts in further development of digitalization and eGovernment, and commended Serbia for the efforts the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment is making to ensure citizens feel the benefits of digitalization.
Namely, the Knowledge Exchange Program is a program for the development and economic cooperation, based on knowledge and sharing of Korea's experiences with partner countries. The Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Korea (MOEF) oversees the KSP program for partner countries - as capacity building and sustainable development, including in-depth analysis, policy consultations and training opportunities. The Knowledge Exchange Program will continue in 2019 and 2020.
This year, the project “Developing a Framework for the Establishment of an Efficient Cloud Data System in Serbia” was launched, which aims to develop a framework for the establishment of an efficient cloud-based data system, analyzing the current status and challenges, thus ensuring and providing opportunities for building new capacities.
The adoption of the eGovernment Development Strategy 2015-2018 is an expression of the efforts that the Government of the Republic of Serbia is making to establish a framework for eGovernment and digitalization. With the aim of smooth implementation and coordination of activities, the Government seeks to get informed on best practices in this field, which the cooperation and the sharing of Korean development experience with partner countries makes possible.
The seminar aimed to showcase Korea's e-commerce operations and its representative services provided to citizens and businesses, ensuring insights that help Serbia successfully implement its strategy.
