State Data Centre gets another User

“The high technical reliability of the State Data Centre is reflected in the secured power supply from three independent sources, a diesel-electric generator system and a continuous power supply system, which enables the Centre to operate autonomously for up to 48 hours. The State Data Centre is the central place where the key information and communication infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia is located, as well as the equipment of state bodies, and is one of the most advanced in the region in terms of technical and security standards”, said the Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, Mihailo Jovanović (Associate Professor, PhD).

The Centre meets the Tier 3+ standard, and the services of the Centre are provided in accordance with the security standard ISO 27001, ISO 9001 quality standard, as well as the quality of service provision standard, ISO 20000. In addition to accommodating the equipment of state authorities, the State Data Centre also provides a Government Cloud service.

 “It is necessary for state authorities, if they do not have own technical conditions, to house their equipment in the State Data Centre, which is specially designed and built for this purpose, and by centralizing state infrastructure we also contribute to the rationalization of the budget - both in terms of the use of existing state hardware and software, as well as in terms of future investments”, Jovanović noted.

Director of the Audit Office of EU Funds, Ljubinko Stanojević, said that the Audit Office has obtained new equipment and new software solution, financed by the EU funds, as well as that it does not have technical conditions and capacities for its housing and maintenance, and that thanks to the State Data Centre and the Office for IT and eGovernment these challenges have been overcome. 

The State Data Centre already accommodates the equipment of the Ministry of State Administration and Local Self-Government with 30 million data from registers of birth, death, and marriage; equipment of the Central Register of Compulsory Social Security and a backup database with about 5 million data of insured individuals of the Republic of Serbia; and by the end of the year, in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of State Administration and Local Self-Government, the Register of Citizens of the Republic of Serbia will as well find its place there. In addition to these state administration bodies, the services of the State Data Centre are also used by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, Ministry of Culture and Information, Directorate for the Property of the Republic of Serbia, Public Debt Administration, Public Policy Secretariat of the Republic of Serbia, State Prosecutorial Council, Central Register of Securities, and the Institute for the Improvement of Education.
