Digitalization of Inspection Services in Progress

In November, more than 800 inspectors of Sanitary Inspection, Market Inspection, Labour Inspectorate and Administrative Inspectorate started with the training for the use of eInspector information system. The introduction of this information system will ensure better coordination between inspections, automation of the work of inspection services and better control efficiency, as well as standardization of the work of inspections and availability of data to all inspections, inevitably causing the cost reducing effect for the economy.

The Prime Minister, Ana Brnabić, said that the eInspector project is one of the most important in digitalizing the work of public administration, adding that as of January 1, the Unified Information System of Local Tax Administrations will be launched, where citizens and businesses will be able to make inquiries into the state of all their tax obligations and to file tax returns online; as of January 8, vouchers and online reporting of seasonal workers in the agricultural sector shall be initiated, the Register of Citizens of the Republic of Serbia will finally be available electronically, while the assigning of about 60 thousand streets is underway as part of the project to develop the Address Register, thanks to the RGA, which has completed street studies for the entire Serbia.

Minister Ružić said that the current number of 6,500 inspectors is insufficient and that there should be 25 percent more of them according to European standards, as well as that a correction coefficient for local inspectors will be provided this year, which will allow for an increase of salaries by 20 percent.

Director of the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment, Mihailo Jovanović, said that inspectors will receive lightweight laptops, wireless internet and qualified electronic certificates, which will allow them to operate without paper, printers, scanners and other additional equipment.

He added that a Contact Centre for Public Administration was established where all employees in public administration will be able to obtain necessary information for the use of four information systems: eZUP, “Baby, Welcome to the World”, eInspector and Unified Information System LTA.

Jovanović said that by May next year, another 33 inspections will start using the eInspector information system, and by the end of 2019 all inspections will be included in this modern information system.

Director of the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment, Mihailo Jovanović, has symbolically assigned to Minister Ružić one set of the working equipment for the inspectors and said that the Office has provided inspectors with 400 of such sets.
