CROSO is the new user of the State Data Centre

“The State Data Centre is a central place where the key information and communication infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia is located, as well as the equipment of state bodies, and is one of the most advanced in the region in terms of technical and security standards. The Centre meets the Tier 3+ standard, and the services of the Centre are provided in accordance with the security standard ISO 27001, ISO 9001 quality standard, as well as the quality of service provision standard, ISO 20000. The high technical reliability of the State Data Centre is reflected in the secured power supply from three independent sources, a diesel-electric generator system and a continuous power supply system, which enables the Centre to operate autonomously for up to 48 hours.”, said the Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, Mihailo Jovanović (Assoc. Prof, PhD).

The State Data Centre already accommodates the equipment of the Ministry of State Administration and Local Self-Government with 30 million data from registers of birth, death, and marriage, and by the end of the year, in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior, the Register of Citizens of the Republic of Serbia will as well find its place there.

Also, preparations have begun for the construction of a Secondary State Centre for Data Management and Storage - Data Centre, which will contribute to the smooth and reliable operation of eGovernment services, secure storage of register data, and the development of future services. In this way, the work of the public administration will be further improved, which will speed up procedures and simplify the everyday life of citizens and the businesses. The construction of this Centre has been declared a project of strategic importance by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

 “With the construction of the secondary State Data Centre in Kragujevac, the Central Register of Compulsory Social Insurance plans to completely shift its operations to a secondary location, in order to enable smooth functioning of all services we provide to citizens, businesses and the state”, said the Director of the Central Register of Compulsory Social Insurance, Nebojša Tomić.

Cooperation regarding the use of all services provided by the State Data Centre has been established at mutual satisfaction, as the equipment is housed in a space which is specially designed and built for this purpose and by centralizing the state infrastructure we also contribute to the rationalization of the budget - both in terms of the use of existing state hardware and software, as well as in terms of future investments.
